As the league approaches week 7, there have been reports that 2 Time Pro Bowl Cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been traded to the Los Angeles Rams for 2 first-round picks in the 2020 Draft and 2021 Draft. Although it may seem highly questionable for a team that traded away their all-pro cornerback, Marcus Peters hours earlier, the Rams have a small window for success and Jalen Ramsey could be the game-changer they need to help an already potent defense. With cornerback Aqib Talib likely out for an extended period of time on injured reserve, the Rams will fill a great void in the secondary.

After reports of Jalen Ramsey and the Jaguars management having personal disagreements, sources close to Ramsey said that he felt “disrespected” in a situation with Jaguars general manager, Tom Coughlin. Despite the lack of knowledge about the disagreement, it is a conversation likely pertaining to Jalen’s impending contract negotiations and him likely becoming the highest-paid defensive back in the NFL.

As for the young and struggling Jaguars, they have the challenge of being in a very tough AFC South with reigning divisional champion Houston Texans. The secondary has struggled without the play of Ramsey and it is to be determined if the void of Ramsey can be filled. The Rams have 7 total interceptions on the season, however, nearly a third of those interceptions are going to Baltimore along with Marcus Peters.

With 10 games remaining and Jalen Ramsey likely to be playing for the first time in 3 weeks, the Rams new edition will have the opportunity to give the 3-3 Rams a much needed big-play guy. If Ramsey can lead the Rams into the playoffs, the defending NFC champions will have the opportunity to reach the Super Bowl and make up for their sour 13-3 Super Bowl LIII loss.
