So it is that the 2019 selection of opponents has been announced for the Buffalo Bills. As expected, we’ll be losing to the Patriots twice and maybe settling split games with both the Dolphins and Jets. The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bungles will be visiting Western New York to go along with the Redskins and the NFL’s most offensive named team, the Eagles.

Also, the Broncos are coming to town.

The Bills will be leaving for greener pastures in cities such as Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Nashville, and Dallas. They’ll be going to the Meadowlands twice as the Bills will have to figure out a way to shut down Saquon Barkley. That’s the Giants, Steelers, Browns, Titans, and Cowboys.

All in all, I’d say this schedule isn’t easy but things can be done with it. According to John Boccacino of buffalorumblings.com, the Bills have the eighth-easiest schedule heading into 2019. Of course, it remains to be seen how the draft and offseason moves will affect this.

It doesn’t matter to me what teams we face. There are will be challenges in every game. It’s up to everyone on the team to accept this and find a way to victory in spite of it. Our defense was ranked second overall in the league last season and despite the retirement of Kyle Williams, there’s little reason to be pessimistic.

With 80 million dollars in cap space, a safe bet can be made that the Bills won’t be just sitting on that. The question is will they make big splashes or will they make little moves that build up to a contender? Antonio Brown is available and the Bills are in need of assistance at that position but I don’t see AB coming to Buffalo…I don’t think I’d want him to either.

Looking at the calendar as of now, I’d expect seven wins from this squad. I never think they’re beating New England. They might get a win against both the Jets and Miami. The Giants might be a win, maybe the Steelers or Browns. I could see the Titans maybe but the rest of the schedule seems to breathe down our neck.

Things change from season to season in the NFL. What’s hot one year is not the next. Games come and go but it’s what happens during a game that gets remembered. All I can ask for is that the Bills make moves that present fond statistics and leave happy memories. It hasn’t happened here all that much recently and I’d like it to.
