In the marathon that is coaching in College Football, Kyle Flood just got his second wind. Per SB Nation’s Rutgers-Centric news branch, On the Banks, the former head honcho for the Scarlet Knights has been officially been hired by Nick Saban’s Alabama Football Program to be their new offensive line coach.

A powerhouse in the SEC, the Crimson Tide have had nothing but pure success under Saban. And that applies to the coaching staff, as well.

According to On the Banks, “Alabama has a history of hiring failed head coaches as position coaches under Saban. Lane Kiffin, Mike Locksley, Sarkisian, and Butch Jones are a few examples. Perhaps Flood can land a head coaching job in the future if he is successful at the highest profile program in college football.”

While with Rutgers, Flood led the Scarlet Knights to a 27-24 record & three bowl appearances. He was fired from the program after allegations of him violating multiple NCAA academic regulations came to light. Handed a one-year “show cause” penalty by the NCAA, Flood went to the NFL during his penalty, taking an assistant offensive line coaching position with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.
